A graduate of New College School of Law, Jesiros has been in private practice since 1995. His areas of concentration are immigration, family defense, and criminal defense (post-conviction relief). He has volunteered for various nonprofits, including La Raza Centro Legal, Veteran's Equity Center, Asian Law Caucus, Asian Law Alliance, Immigrant Legal Resource Center, Chinese for Affirmative Action, Catholic Charities of the East Bay, and Korean Community Center of the East Bay. Douglas ChanDoug is a business attorney with more than 30 years of experience in international and domestic transactions. His practice, Chan & Welch, LLP, is concentrated on international and domestic business formations, joint ventures, technology licensing, product distribution and supply arrangements, asset protection, and strategic counseling for foreign and domestic firms. Gilbert TsaiGilbert is a partner at Hanson Bridgett LLP, and specializes in labor and employment law, including harassment claims, wrongful termination claims, union negotiations, and wage and hour disputes. He received a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, and a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law. His past nonprofit experience includes volunteer work at the Legal Aid-Employment Law Center and the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center in Washington, DC. Janel ThamkulJanel graduated from UC Berkeley School of Law. She practiced intellectual property and general business litigation at Farella Braun + Martel LLP before joining Google as a commercial and product counsel. Prior to law school, Janel was a children's advocate at the Center for the Pacific Asian Family, and in law school, she interned with API Legal Outreach. She has also volunteered with the California Asylum Representation Clinic, City Team Oakland, Community Legal Services of East Palo Alto's Expungement Clinic, and Kids in Need of Defense. Lisa P. MakLisa P. Mak is an Associate at Minami Tamaki LLP's Consumer and Employee Rights Group. She is passionate about protecting the rights of consumers and employees, as much as individuals and in class actions. Ms. Mak's practice includes employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, defamation, contract claims, and labor code violations. She graduated from UC San Diego summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, and received her law degree from UC Hastings. (Joined the APILO Board in 2015)
Minette KwokMinette is a current partner at Minami Tamaki LLP, and has been working there for the past 26 years. She is a certified specialist in immigration law, and her legal practice focuses primarily on business and family immigration law. She was previously the Executive Director of Asian Legal Services Outreach in Sacramento. Today, she serves on the board for Center for Gender & Refugee Studies at UC Hastings, American Immigration Council, and API Legal Outreach. (Joined the APILO Board in 2008)

Jane GoraiCo-Chair
After graduating from Hastings College of the Law in 1982, Jane gained diverse experience as an attorney handling issues including public benefits, family law, estate planning, social security disability/SSI cases, workers' compensation, and OSHA cases. From 1989 to 2013, she served as in-house counsel for PG & E. She retired in 2013 after an extensive career. She currently works at Asian Women's Shelter with the children's program and as a certified domestic violence counselor. (Joined the APILO board in February 2014) Deanna KwongDeanna is a patent litigation and IP advisement attorney at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. She also has a very active pro bono practice, including appellate and Supreme Court work on immigration issues and other issues relevant to the Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Edith HoEdith teaches and directs the legal writing program and serves as the Program Coordinator of the First Year Moot Court Program at the University of San Francisco School of Law. Before teaching full-time, she was in private practice with San Francisco law firms specializing in civil litigation and insurance coverage. Prior to private practice, she was an attorney with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. (Joined the APILO Board in April 2014)
Gregory TanakaGreg is the ADR Managing Attorney of the San Mateo Superior Court, where he oversees the Family Law Facilitator's Office, ADR Program, Court Investigations, and Family Court Services. Previously, he was a staff attorney and then a supervising attorney for eight years at API Legal Outreach, and represented low-income, immigrant survivors of domestic violence in family law, immigration, and domestic violence restraining orders. He is a native and current resident of San Francisco, and has three children with his wife, Jennie. (Joined the APILO Board in 2016)
Jason YeeA graduate of UC Hastings, Jason is the principal attorney at The Law Office of Jason K. Yee. His practice mainly focuses on individuals and businesses with their business law and immigration law issues. Beside managing his own practice, he also helps develop and manage his family's businesses. He is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, as well as a Membership Committee Co-Chair for the Asian American Bar Association, and an active volunteer for the Justice and Diversity Center. He is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin. (Joined the APILO Board in February 2017)
Lolita C. KintanarHolding a Master of Social Work from San Francisco State University, Lolita has been heavily involved with senior-serving and other nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, including Canon Kip Senior Center, Dorothy Day Community, Curry Senior Center, Asian Community Mental Health Services, Filipino Community Development Corporation, and Filipino Senior Center. Previously, she worked in the Philippines in nonprofit and governmental community services. (Joined the APILO Board in August 2015)
Minming WuMinming is the Assistant Regional Counsel of the Region IX Office in the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), a federal agency which funds public transit agencies and their improvement and expansion projects. She brings 17 years of experience in real estate, public infrastructure and contracting, and community development. She has a dual law degree from UC Berkeley and the University of Pantheon-Assas, a French law school, as well as a Master in Urban Planning. (Joined the APILO Board in June 2017)
