Elder Abuse

Get Help
In the API community and in general, elder abuse continues to be underreported and misunderstood. Barriers to reporting can linguistic isolation, familial relationship to the abuser, and cultural values that encourage endurance of suffering in favor of group stability.

API Legal Outreach works to both to prevent abuse towards elders and people with disabilities and to assist survivors of abuse. We work closely with senior centers, churches, and senior meal sites to keep our services accessible.
