Social Justice Drive-In

New Date: November 6, 2021
CORTE MADERA, CA AND ONLINE

UPDATE 10/25 – We are excited to announce our new event date of Saturday 11/6 which will be held RAIN OR SHINE! Our event will start earlier than we had originally planned (at 5:30 pm instead of 6:00 pm) because of the earlier sunset. Please spread the word about the update as we hope more people will be able to attend this new weekend date!
We are offering 3 ways to enjoy the event:

  1. LIVE in-person
  2. LIVE virtually
  3. Recording which will only be available the weekend of the event

We want to accommodate folks who have already purchased tickets so that they may still enjoy our event in one of those three ways. For those that cannot experience our event in those ways, we hope you will consider the ticket price a donation.

However, if you do need a refund, please log in to your Eventbrite account and click on “View and manage my orders”, click on “Social Justice Drive-In”, and click “Request Refund”.

UPDATE 10/18 – Due to an unavoidable and unprecedented weather front, we cannot host our Social Justice Drive-In on Thursday 10/21. We are postponing the event to a later date so it can be held RAIN OR SHINE

Stay tuned! We will be sharing more details with you later this week.

As we slowly come back from last year, we have postponed plans for a normal celebratory gathering and instead invite you to our Social Justice Drive-In where we will be showing a sneak peek screening of This Adventure Called California. We seek your support of our work by buying tickets to the exclusive screening or as sponsors.

This Adventure Called California by filmmaker Jennifer Huang is an award-winning film about the tragedy of human trafficking featuring a former client. This Adventure has been awarded the Jury Award for Best Documentary at the 2021 SF Indie Short Film Festival! You can still get tickets to join us at our Social Justice Drive-In for an exclusive screening of this documentary.

We are raising awareness of human trafficking while raising funds to sustain our 46th year of providing culturally and linguistically competent legal and social services. Join us in-person and enjoy:

  • dinner
  • exclusive interview with film subject and our former client Arnoldo Lopez Contreras
  • exclusive Q&A session with filmmaker Jennifer Huang
  • music
  • giveaways
  • socializing with friends outdoors (at your own risk)
